Ferro Silicon is used in steelmaking and cast irons to remove oxygen and improve microstructural properties. Silicon basically improves strength and wear resistance, flexibility, corrosion resistance and low electrical conductivity and magnetic shrinkage properties. Low Al content Standard FeSi, High Purity FeSi and low carbon FeSi products are used as alloying elements in the production of special quality steels used in engine, bearing, shock absorber, steel cord fabric in vehicle tires and stainless steel manufacturing. FerroSilis is also used in the production of CaSi and Ferro Manganese Hc.
